I love seeing the changing phases, it is looking very nice, I think you are chasing that distinction here.
Thanks mum... hopefully chasing a distinction. This has certianly been an experience and I am glad I chose to take Sally on (learnt a lot about the way I work this time and what other people like). Although I won't take another Sally on for a very long time afterwards!
So good Jessica. You are doing beautifully ... I was interested to know what the marks were to keep you on track for a distinction - a few I know have achieved it ... so it is reachable for sure if you put the effort in. This is sensational but soo much work!
I got 92% on my grapes - just scraped it. All my other pieces of coursework on this blog got around mid 80's. It is really hard to get the distinction. With the mixed leaves and flowers - piece if advice is get the composition right and choose as many varying types as possible and stick to the specification - do the correct stalk length. With flower portrait, get the flowers from as many angles as possible with as many life cycles as possible (bud/open/dead) - so in order to do that you may want to choose something that you cn fit on the page. Do everything in odd numbers and get the watercolour's to go as light and as dark as possible - they seem to like that. hope this helps? It's been rather annoying the things I have been penalised on and it seems it just isn't easy to escape that one way or the other :(
Pleased about the grapes though :P !!
Jessica I can imagine your grapes are astounding - I would buy a print if every you sell them. That is great advice on composition, varying stages etc. I think it's already showing in graphite requirements that the more you can show re tonal range and stages the more interesting it becomes. Sometimes you try to give exactly what is asked not realising that your own creativity really adds to the result. You have gone above and beyond here so if you can stay connected to dear old Sally I think you will be well rewarded!
Thanks Vicki... I hope I am rewarded, but I guess it is important to remember that it is not why we do it. I really try not to let my ego be any part of what I am doing - and it is really hard, as we all like a pat on the back :) I guess I like to show people how beautiful everything is. I will be selling prints of the grapes. I am doing a limited edition of 20 and will post it on my blog when they are ready :)
